    YOUTHCONNEKT SAHEL FORUM 2023

Hosted by the Government of Chad, the second edition of YouthConnekt Sahel Forum (YCSF) will be held in N’Djamena, Chad in June 2023, under the theme “Empowering the Sahelian youth through local solutions and innovations” This year’s event shall be built around three key thematic areas: (1) Youth Peace and Security, (2) Youth, Entrepreneurship and Employment, and (3) Youth and Climate Change mitigation. The Forum will promote youth-led innovations and solutions to create more opportunities and scale up existing ones.

Over three (3) days, YCSF’23 will deliver a combination of informative, high-level plenaries, including “a Meet the President(s) session”, the forum will be organized in a hybrid mode convening 500 young people in person and almost 1000 participants virtually, with a specific effort to ensure the participation of young women and youth with disabilities.

  • Opening ceremony: official launch of YouthConnekt Sahel and YouthConnekt chad
  • Meeting with the President
  • Leadership for the promotion of youth, youth, the engine of transformation in the Sahel
  • On the 10 National Chapters of YouthConnekt

  • Entrepreneurship and AfCFTA Opportunities for Youth and the Sahelian Diaspora
  • The Importance of Digitalization for Entrepreneurship and Youth Employability: how to use it wisely for the empowerment of young people in the Sahel
  • Youth at the Service of the Sahel - Accelerating innovations and green actions for a greener Sahel
  • Climate Justice at the heart of the policies to be promoted by young people in the Sahel
  • The Role and Involvement of National Youth Advisors for Peace and Security in the Sahel Countries
  • The Radicalization of Young People at the Heart of the Security Crisis in the Sahel, How to Fix it?
  • The Geopolitics of the Sahel countries, the history, the implications and the resolutions of young people for a Stable and Peaceful Sahel

  • On the role of International Institutions for the Empowerment of Youth in the Sahel
  • What are the mechanisms put in place by the Private Sector and the Diaspora Associations of Sahelian Countries to Support the Empowerment of Youth in the Sahel?
